Algonquin Oval
Oval Bookmatch tables are beautiful one of a kind tables. They are made with two 10/4 thick 'sister slabs' (meaning that these slices were side by side on the tree) of wood that are laid up beside each other. This is what gives these tables their symmetrical balanced look because knots on one side are mirrored on the other. Using bookmatched slabs for an oval table is rather unique and gives the table an upscale sophisticated look.
Traditionally bookmatch tables have been made of Walnut. We find though that Oak and Ash are also great options. Each one is so unique as the beauty of these tables actually comes from the imperfections in the wood. It is also worth noting that because these tables require a more specialized wood selection, we do need a bit more time for production. But you will find they are definitely worth the wait.
Our Oval Bookmatch tables are paired with our Alta legs. These wood legs have elegant lines that complement the table top. More information about them is available here. To highlight the thickness of the wood, we use a traditional square edge that we call a Cline edge. Details on the edge are available here.

- Natural wood has variation in the grain.
- Solid wood will expand and contract in different climates
- Most of our walnut has sap wood, which introduces some variance in color into the wood
